Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raven Red Feathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Red Feathers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Red Feathers fails to land the takedown.

Payne postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Red Feathers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Payne, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Payne wants to get up but he can't break Red Feathers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Payne has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Payne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Payne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Payne is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Red Feathers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Payne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Payne is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Raven Red Feathers will probably get the nod.
That's time! Red Feathers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Payne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Payne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
