The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kozak wants to slow Akiyama down by chopping away at his legs.
Some wild striking there from Akiyama.
Kozak throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kozak shoots in looking for a takedown but Akiyama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kozak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Akiyama throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kozak tries a head kick but it misses.
Akiyama throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kozak fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kozak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Akiyama as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Kozak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Akiyama misses with a double jab.
No joy there for Akiyama, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akiyama leaves Kozak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Yoshihiro Akiyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Akiyama uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Akiyama lands a left and a right that send Kozak crashing to the mat, dazed. Akiyama thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Akiyama throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oh Kozak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Akiyama circles away from the clinch attempt.
Akiyama throws an overhand right that has Kozak reeling! Akiyama follows up with more punches and Kozak is out cold! This one is all over!
