Vukovic kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rammstein - Feuer Frei! . Alexander Nevsky has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Nevsky!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevsky misses with a head kick.
Nevsky throws a sloppy head kick
and Vukovic counters with a stiff right hand.
Nevsky misses with a left hand
and Vukovic counters with a nice uppercut.
Vukovic tries to score with a low kick but Nevsky moves his leg out of the way.
Nevsky throws a leg kick that is checked
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Nevsky misses with an uppercut
and Vukovic counters with a head kick.
Vukovic slaps away a takedown attempt from Nevsky, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nevsky misses with a kick to the body
and Vukovic counters with a thumping low kick.
Nevsky lands with a nice body punch.
Nevsky jabs at Vukovic's body.
Nevsky misses with a right hand
and Vukovic counters with a slapping leg kick.
Nevsky throws a right hand that misses
and Vukovic counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nevsky throws an off balance right hand
and Vukovic makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses
and Vukovic counters with a right hand to the body.
Nevsky connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vukovic's hands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vukovic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nevsky tries to work over Vukovic's front leg with a kick but Vukovic checks it.

Vukovic takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nevsky misses with a body shot
and Vukovic counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Vukovic misses with a leg kick

and Nevsky counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vukovic's guard now.
Vukovic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nevsky stops Vukovic from standing up.
Nevsky postures up in Vukovic's guard and throws a big left but Vukovic blocks it.
Nevsky engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nevsky throws and elbow that misses. Vukovic uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nevsky's guard. Nice move by Vukovic!
Vukovic wants to stand and escape but instead Nevsky has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Vukovic utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Vukovic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Nevsky has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nevsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nevsky throws a strike but Vukovic rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Nevsky manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Vukovic takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Vukovic is squirming around, avoiding Nevsky's attempts to control the action.
Nevsky unloads with some shots from mount but Vukovic bucks and avoids them well.

Tomislav Vukovic's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nevsky won't let Vukovic get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jeez, Tomislav Vukovic's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
