Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Robsahm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bic Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Robsahm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bic Pencil!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Robsahm or perhaps it was just good defense by Pencil which made him look bad.
Robsahm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pencil swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pencil fails with the takedown

and Robsahm counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pencil's guard now.

Pencil looking for a guillotine here but Robsahm defends easily.
Pencil wants to sweep here but Robsahm controlling him for the moment.
Pencil looks gassed!
Robsahm trying to control the position from guard on top but Pencil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pencil looking to hit a scissor sweep but Robsahm is one step ahead there.

Pencil escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robsahm gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pencil can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robsahm controls the pace.

Robsahm stands up from Pencil's guard - Robsahm perhaps looking for a knockout.
Robsahm is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Robsahm lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pencil at a distance.

Robsahm scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pencil is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Robsahm jumps into side control!
Pencil is looking for a sweep.

Pencil is looking to regain half guard here but Robsahm keeps moving and retains side control.

Robsahm is staying tight to Pencil's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Robsahm will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pencil tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Robsahm wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on Pencil's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pencil shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Robsahm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pencil.
Robsahm bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Robsahm swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pencil circles away from the clinch attempt.
Alex Robsahm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pencil scores with a takedown into Robsahm's guard.
Robsahm has his hands on Pencil's head, controlling the position.
Robsahm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Robsahm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pencil doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pencil manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pencil wants to stand but Robsahm has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pencil makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Robsahm is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Robsahm is trying to keep Pencil in close.

Pencil drops back, looking for a kneebar! Robsahm looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Robsahm looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Robsahm!

Robsahm tries for a kimura but Pencil is defending well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Robsahm throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A combination from Robsahm does no damage.
Robsahm tries to clinch but Pencil moves out of range.

Pencil closes the distance and clinches.
Pencil pushes off an throws an elbow but Robsahm leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Robsahm gets underhooks to prevent Pencil's takedown attempt.
Pencil tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Robsahm smiles and moves away.

Robsahm fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pencil, pushing him back against the cage.
Pencil avoiding damage as Robsahm throws knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robsahm gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Robsahm pushes down on Pencil's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pencil is refusing to be controlled, as Robsahm sits in half guard.
Pencil is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Robsahm's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Robsahm's back!

Pencil doesn't have the hooks in and Robsahm manages to turn into his guard.
Robsahm is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Robsahm really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Pencil postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Robsahm is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pencil, into his guard.

Robsahm stands up and waves to Pencil to follow him.
Robsahm lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Pencil fails with the takedown
and Robsahm counters with a left to the body.
Alex Robsahm is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Robsahm shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pencil wants to control but Robsahm is having none of it.

Pencil is squirming around, avoiding Robsahm's attempts to control the action.
Robsahm prevents Pencil from getting the reversal.

Robsahm takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Robsahm struggling to keep hold of the position.
Robsahm trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Pencil doesn't escape.
Robsahm's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Robsahm controlling the positon.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Robsahm's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Robsahm is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Pencil has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Robsahm slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Pencil rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Robsahm is keen to just control but Pencil is a slippery customer.
