Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Lemansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and brandon vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). vera has chosen Black Eyed Peas: The APL Song as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Lemansky darts in trying to clinch

and vera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

vera seems to be working for a kimura but Lemansky defends the submission attempt.

vera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
vera wants to stand up but Lemansky is controlling the position.
vera stops Lemansky from getting back to his feet.

Lemansky is staying active underneath vera, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lemansky is looking to escape.
vera throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

vera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lemansky tries to avoid it but vera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lemansky to the ground. Lemansky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Curtis Lemansky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
vera shoots for a takedown but Lemansky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
