Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rumple Stiltzkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Bearinstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiltzkin's entrance music is Solitaire Unraveling. A fine choice. Paul Bearinstein acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rumple Stiltzkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Bearinstein!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bearinstein swings widly with a right hand
and Stiltzkin counters with a straight right hand.
Bearinstein misses with a combination
and Stiltzkin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bearinstein throws a lazy uppercut
and Stiltzkin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stiltzkin tries for a takedown but Bearinstein circles away easily
and Bearinstein counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bearinstein throws a right hand that misses

and Stiltzkin counters with a shoot takedown. Bearinstein fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stiltzkin throwing strikes but missing.
Stiltzkin is standing up over Bearinstein. Bearinstein looks to escape but Stiltzkin dives into side control.

Sloppy strikes there by Stiltzkin.
Bearinstein is trying to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Stiltzkin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Stiltzkin in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Stiltzkin prevents Bearinstein from escaping the position.
Bearinstein is trying to improve his position.
Bearinstein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stiltzkin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bearinstein is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Stiltzkin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Stiltzkin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stiltzkin throwing strikes but missing.
Bearinstein wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stiltzkin is now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stiltzkin shoots for a takedown but Bearinstein saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bearinstein throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Stiltzkin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bearinstein!
Bearinstein is looking to improve his position but Stiltzkin isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stiltzkin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

A nice elbow there by Stiltzkin.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bearinstein can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bearinstein wants to control but Stiltzkin is having none of it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stiltzkin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Stiltzkin landing strikes from the mount.
Stiltzkin working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Bearinstein is trying desperately to improve position.
Bearinstein is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Stiltzkin tries to control but Bearinstein wriggling away.
Bearinstein avoids a series of strikes thrown by Stiltzkin.
Rumple Stiltzkin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bearinstein wants to get back to his feet.
Bearinstein really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Stiltzkin landing strikes from the mount.
Stiltzkin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bearinstein misses with a right hand

and Stiltzkin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bearinstein's guard now.
Bearinstein wants to sweep here but Stiltzkin controlling him for the moment.
Bearinstein keeping moving, preventing Stiltzkin from controlling successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stiltzkin is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rumple Stiltzkin.
Bearinstein misses with an uppercut

and Stiltzkin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stiltzkin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bearinstein tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stiltzkin shoots in but Bearinstein avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bearinstein throws an off balance right hand

and Stiltzkin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bearinstein holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bearinstein is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paul Bearinstein wasn't active enough on the ground.
Stiltzkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Bearinstein sprawls well. He's pushed Stiltzkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stiltzkin misses with a takedown attempt - Bearinstein sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rumple Stiltzkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Rumple Stiltzkin has been cut.
Bearinstein misses with a left hand

and Stiltzkin counters with a single leg into guard. Bearinstein didn't expect that.

Stiltzkin throws a big right hand that misses.
Bearinstein wants to hit a switch here but Stiltzkin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bearinstein there!
Bearinstein is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bearinstein is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rumple Stiltzkin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stiltzkin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
