Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wes Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Bower!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bower scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Morris doesn't seem bothered though.
Bower looks to land a combination but Morris avoids it well.
Dave Bower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bower thows a body shot but no joy.
Morris throws out a loose jab but Bower uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bower misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morris looks to land a left hand but Bower moved out of range nicely.
Morris stuffs the takedown.

Bower throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Morris uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Morris looks to throw the jab but Bower is out of range.

Morris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bower swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bower will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Morris leaves Bower with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bower shoots in looking for a takedown but Morris manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bower's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Morris counters with a nice uppercut.

Morris's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bower under the eye.
Bower takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Morris uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bower has time to react.

Morris tries to clinch up but Bower circles away and keeps his distance.
Bower drops his hands momentarily and Morris takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Morris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wes Morris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Morris staying out of range there.
Morris is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Morris lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Morris looks to score with a jab to the body but Bower is just out of range.
Morris misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bower misses with a kick to the body
and Morris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Morris counters with a three punch combo that has Bower backing up. Bower nods at Morris to acknowledge the strikes.
Morris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bower manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Morris tries to work over Bower's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bower is fighting off a takedown attempt but Morris is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bower to the mat. Bower regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Bower is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bower keeping moving, preventing Morris from controlling successfully.

Bower looking for a sweep. Not yet Bower, not yet.
Morris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Morris wants to pass the guard but Bower is keeping the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bower changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Morris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Morris moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Morris throws a nice looking combination but Bower bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dave Bower is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Morris misses with a hook. Bower ducked under it nicely.

Morris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bower.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
