Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A big right from Sanchez misses.

Sanchez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sanchez lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watanabe working for a triangle but Sanchez defends it easily.

Watanabe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanchez defends well.

Watanabe has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.

Watanabe looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! Watanabe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Watanabe manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into Watanabe's guard.

Sanchez wants to control from the top but Watanabe keeps moving.
Watanabe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sanchez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Watanabe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sanchez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Watanabe is trying to keep Sanchez in close.
Sanchez throws a big right hand that misses.
Sanchez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Watanabe keeps moving.

Sanchez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanchez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sanchez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Watanabe on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sanchez. Sanchez obviously looking to wear him down.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sanchez drops Watanabe with a left right combo! Sanchez follows him down to the ground into side control.

Watanabe is rocked!

It looks like Jun Watanabe has been cut.
Watanabe looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanchez decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Sanchez closes the distance looking for a takedown. Watanabe stuffs it but Sanchez still has hold of him. Sanchez picks Watanabe up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Sanchez slams Watanabe to the floor and that's really hurt Watanabe - he doesn't know where he is! Sanchez throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
