Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greig Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Leiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Duality. Leiva has chosen Spiderbait - Black Betty as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Leiva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Leiva pushes him off.
Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smith working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Smith lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smith takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Leiva manages to pull guard.
Leiva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

Leiva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leiva's guard.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leiva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smith seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Leiva's temple.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Leiva is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

Smith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Leiva tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smith!
