Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, RoJa San Pedro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from San Pedro.
Kingston stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kingston wants it to stay on the feet.
San Pedro thows a body shot but no joy.
San Pedro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kingston pinned against the cage. Kingston gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for RoJa San Pedro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kingston decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
San Pedro is looking to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

San Pedro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kingston loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
San Pedro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kingston is one step ahead there.
Kingston trying to control the position from guard on top but San Pedro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kingston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kingston scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
San Pedro is looking for a sweep.
San Pedro takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
San Pedro holds on to Kingston's head and controls the position momentarily.
San Pedro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

San Pedro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kingston is working away from the top position though.
Kingston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with San Pedro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

San Pedro wants to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
San Pedro looks like he's trying to stand up.
San Pedro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kingston is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are battling for position here. San Pedro manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Kingston sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed San Pedro's guard.
Kingston lands with a punch from half guard.
Kingston tries to pass the half guard into mount. San Pedro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kingston thows a huge punch but San Pedro dodges it nicely.

San Pedro is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kingston's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kingston's back!

Luke Kingston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kingston closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
San Pedro keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kingston is thwarting San Pedro's attempts to control the position.
San Pedro is pressing down on Kingston's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kingston takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

San Pedro wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
San Pedro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

RoJa San Pedro has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Kingston drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
San Pedro wants to control but Kingston postures up.
San Pedro is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
San Pedro sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Kingston not landing any meaningful shots this time.
San Pedro works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kingston with a flurry of punches that miss.

San Pedro wants to sweep here but Kingston controlling him for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

San Pedro quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kingston has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! San Pedro celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
