Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earnest Knocks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rick James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Earnest Knocks !
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in but Knocks avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James shoots for a takedown but Knocks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for James with that takedown attempt.

Knocks has closed the distance and engaged James in a clinch.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Knocks which made him look bad.

James scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Knocks wants to get back to his feet but James drags him back down.
Knocks is trying to get back to half guard.
James is breathing heavily.
James working the strikes but Knocks uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Knocks tries to roll over but James keeps him under control.
James is looking to take a break and control but Knocks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Knocks blocking the ground and pound attempt from James.
Knocks desperately trying to maintain half guard.
James could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
James missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Knocks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Knocks preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Earnest Knocks has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Knocks .
Knocks fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.

Knocks closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming James to the mat! James manages to get full guard.
Knocks is looking to stand up but James won't let him.
James avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Knocks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knocks is looking to work some ground and pound but James has wrist control.
Knocks trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Knocks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
James keeping moving, preventing Knocks from controlling successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Earnest Knocks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Knocks feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.
Knocks fails in his attempt to clinch.
Knocks lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Rick James has been cut.
Knocks dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on James. That did some damage!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earnest Knocks dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rick James's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Knocks fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Knocks scoring well with a low kick there.
James with a lazy takedown attempt
and Knocks counters with a head kick. That will keep James thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
James tries for a takedown but Knocks circles away easily
and Knocks counters with a huge head kick that drops James! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Earnest Knocks !
