PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Jie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fable Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia tries to bum rush Jie with a series of wild strikes but Jie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jie checks the leg kick.
Garcia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jie swivels and escapes.
Nice takedown defense from Jie. No joy for Garcia on that attempt.
Garcia throws a jab but it's blocked by Jie.

Jie clinches up with Garcia and pushes him back against the cage.
Jie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Garcia smiles and moves away.

Garcia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jie sees it coming and defends easily.

That's time! Garcia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Garcia escapes and gets back to his feet.

Damien Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jie shoots for a double leg takedown but Garcia sprawls well. He's pushed Jie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Garcia decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I would just about give that final round to Ren Jie.
Well Jie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
