Thompson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The game. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson wants to clinch up but Durant keeps it at a distance.

and Durant counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Durant swats away the attempt to clinch by Thompson.
Good leg kick by Durant there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thompson.

and Durant takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Durant throws a head kick but Thompson moves out of range.
Durant throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Durant dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thompson. That did some damage!

Thompson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Durant clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Thompson.

Thompson is cranking Durant's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Durant! He's tightened the choke and Durant is tapping out!
