PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Hachiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hachiro is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dragonslayer. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Hachiro!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker dips to his left and cracks Hachiro with an uppercut!

Tucker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hachiro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tucker gets to his feet - Hachiro follows without any prompting.
Hachiro tries to clinch up but Tucker circles away and keeps his distance.

Tucker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hachiro sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Tucker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Tucker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tucker decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hachiro lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Tyson Tucker has been cut.
Hachiro misses with a takedown attempt

and Tucker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hachiro won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Hachiro's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Akira Hachiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tucker shoots in and gets a takedown into Hachiro's guard.

Tucker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hachiro for as long as he can get away with.

Hachiro wants to control but Tucker is keeping busy and won't allow it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Tucker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Tucker stuffs the takedown.
Tucker throws a combination that misses
and Hachiro counters with a one-two to the body.

Tucker darts in and clinches Hachiro up against the cage.
Tucker is working for takedown but Hachiro is calmly controlling the position for now.
Tucker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hachiro fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Tyson Tucker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Tucker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hachiro!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tucker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tucker cracks Hachiro with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hachiro takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Tucker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hachiro tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tucker controlling the pace for now.

We're going to have a standup here because Tyson Tucker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hachiro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tucker circles away quickly and effectively.

Tucker moves into the clinch successfully.
Hachiro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tucker's efforts to push away.

Tucker tightens his grip and picks Hachiro up, before dumping him to the ground. Hachiro manages to land in guard.
Tucker is looking to work some ground and pound but Hachiro has wrist control.

Tucker gets to his feet. Hachiro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hachiro drives through and clinches with Tucker against the cage.
Tucker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hachiro pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Tucker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tucker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hachiro to the mat! Hachiro manages to get full guard.
Tucker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Tucker stands up and waves to Hachiro to follow him.
Tucker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hachiro.
Tucker throws a solid leg kick but Hachiro takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tucker.
Tucker throws a shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tucker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tucker goes for an armbar but Hachiro turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hachiro.

Hachiro avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tucker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hachiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tucker pushes Hachiro off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hachiro darts in and clinches Tucker up against the cage.
Tucker tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hachiro avoids it.
Tucker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hachiro can do to turn this around?
Tucker fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hachiro misses with a knee strike.
Tucker wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tucker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hachiro looks to throw an elbow but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hachiro keeps control of Tucker as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Akira Hachiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tucker digs a right hand into Hachiro's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hachiro's gas tank.

Tucker tightens his grip and picks Hachiro up, before dumping him to the ground. Hachiro manages to land in guard.
Hachiro wants to sweep but no luck.
Tucker wants to control from the top but Hachiro keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tucker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hachiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyson Tucker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tucker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
