The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murakami throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
A punch combination from Murakami misses.
Murakami lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Murakami throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Murakami darts in and clinches Gracie up against the cage.
Murakami has had enough of the clinch but Gracie keeps him there for the moment.

Murakami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murakami sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murakami keeps working.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Murakami to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Murakami shrugs it off.

Gracie working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Murakami looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Gracie! Submission of the night perhaps?
