PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Sleep When I'm Dead blaring out of the sound system. Norris is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Six Feet Under - Lycanthropy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris slips a straight right by Silva.
Norris dodges the punch combination from Silva.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Norris avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Norris pivots, looking for a leg kick but Silva is out of range and Norris settles back down.
Silva swinging wildly here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Silva, as that shot connected.
Rich Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva catches Norris with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Norris takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Norris's shoulder, as Norris tries to avoid the shot.

Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Norris manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Buck Norris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Norris buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Silva throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Norris looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range.

Silva drives through with a takedown into guard.
Norris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Norris tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Silva working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Norris is working to avoid the ground and pound but Silva connects with a decent elbow.
Norris is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.

Norris manages to get back to half guard.
Norris wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Norris is positioning himself well to prevent Silva advancing to mount.

Norris is pressing down on Silva's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Silva makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Norris wants to control the position but Silva says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Norris has managed to free his arm - good work.

Silva is working for a submission of some sort.

Norris is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Norris gets his hands free as Silva looks to control.
Silva manages to reverse the position and now he's in Norris's guard. Nice work there by Silva.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Norris tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Norris works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Silva keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Norris's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rich Silva will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Silva throws a shot from downtown. Norris moves away and avoids it.

Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Norris avoids it really well and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Norris.

Silva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silva there as he acknowledges the shot.
Norris lands a slapping body shot.
The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Norris doesn't seem phased though.

Norris is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout.

Silva is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Norris did well to prevent Silva getting side control.

Norris has a hand on Silva's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Silva takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

It looks like Buck Norris has been cut.
Rich Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Norris is out cold! Silva jumps to his feet and celebrates on the ropes with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
