Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bay Mai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yemon Fujiwara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yemon Fujiwara will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yemon Fujiwara!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mai has picked Fujiwara up - he's going for a ride! Mai dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Mai throws and elbow that misses. Fujiwara uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mai's guard. Nice move by Fujiwara!
Fujiwara makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Fujiwara wants to control from the top but Mai keeps moving.
Mai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fujiwara's guard.

Fujiwara stands and steps away. Mai gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fujiwara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mai swivels and escapes.
Fujiwara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mai on the side of the head.

Fujiwara has Mai pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mai manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bay Mai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yemon Fujiwara.

Mai wants to get back to striking at distance but Fujiwara won't allow it.

Mai lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mai wants to free his trapped foot but Fujiwara is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fujiwara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fujiwara.

Fujiwara looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mai is one step ahead there.
Mai stands and throws Fujiwara's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mai decides to stand back up.
Fujiwara tries for a takedown but Mai sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fujiwara shoots in but no luck this time.

Mai is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

so Mai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bay Mai will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fujiwara working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Fujiwara is tightening it up a little... Mai has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mai reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mai taps out! nice BJJ there by Fujiwara!
