Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael weston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justun wood!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by weston as he checks the leg kick.
wood takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Justun wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
wood motions for weston to come forward. wood throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
weston bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
wood fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but weston is out of range.
wood takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
weston jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
wood misses with a kick to the body.
wood shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
weston connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between wood's hands.
weston checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
wood is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

weston is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Horrible takedown by wood or perhaps it was just good defense by weston which made him look bad.

wood is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but weston is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
weston is pushing wood's head away, looking to escape. wood manages to hold on to the position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

wood has control of weston's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and weston regains control of the situation pretty easily.

wood is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. weston can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

wood shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says weston as he avoids it easily.
The crowd cheers as weston lands an impressive looking overhand right. wood doesn't seem phased though.

wood keeps the fight in the clinch, despite weston's efforts to push away.
wood throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael weston will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

weston lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
weston throws a hook but wood avoids it easily.
wood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as weston throws out the jab.
wood does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

wood uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from weston.

wood closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

wood might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control weston kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

weston bucks up and tries to throw wood off but instead wood has got his back!

Justun wood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

weston circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops wood to the canvas! wood doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - weston keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
