Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Duke Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steffen Beiermann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duke Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steffen Beiermann!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Knight as he checks the leg kick.
Beiermann wants to clinch up but Knight keeps it at a distance.
Beiermann lands with a kick to the temple. Knight shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Beiermann tries to clinch but Knight is having none of it.
Beiermann lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Beiermann.


It looks like Duke Knight has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beiermann looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Knight scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Steffen Beiermann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knight closes the distance and pushes Beiermann back into the cage.

Knight jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beiermann walks away with a smile on his face. Knight gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Beiermann misses with a body kick.
Beiermann lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Knight has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Beiermann is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beiermann goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Knight turns into him and now he's in Beiermann's guard.

Duke Knight overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Beiermann is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Knight is staying active.

Knight ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Knight no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Duke Knight will probably get the nod.

Beiermann lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Knight circles away quickly and effectively.

Knight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Beiermann throws out the jab.

Knight connects with a good right hand that stumbles Beiermann. Beiermann circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beiermann throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Knight's waist but Knight gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beiermann off to one side.

Knight fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Beiermann, pushing him back against the cage.

Knight breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Knight counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Beiermann thinking.

Duke Knight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Knight looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

enabling Knight to counter with a crisp jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Beiermann enables Knight to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Beiermann manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
