Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Veijo Veijalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralphie Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Veijo Veijalainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ralphie Parker!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veijalainen throws a head kick that misses.
Parker sizes up Veijalainen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Parker throws a jab but it's blocked by Veijalainen.

Veijalainen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Veijalainen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Parker smiles and moves away.
Veijalainen blocks a jab.
Parker throws a lazy right hand but Veijalainen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Veijalainen defending well as Parker loads up on a big left hand.
Veijalainen ducks under a wild hook from Parker.
Parker misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Veijalainen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Veijalainen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Parker.
Veijalainen throws a nice head kick!
Veijalainen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Parker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veijalainen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Parker misses with an uppercut. Veijalainen saw that one coming.
Veijalainen shoots for a double leg takedown but Parker sprawls well. He's pushed Veijalainen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Veijalainen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Veijalainen just misses with a punch to the body.
Parker lands a right hook to the body.
Veijalainen misses with a body kick.
Veijalainen feints and then cracks Parker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Parker down.
Parker throws a looping overhand right but Veijalainen ducks down to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Parker misses the target.
Parker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Veijalainen.

Veijalainen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Parker, pushing him back against the cage.

Veijalainen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker wants to stand and escape but instead Veijalainen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Veijalainen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Veijalainen controls from within his opponent's guard.

Veijalainen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Veijalainen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Veijalainen advances position into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee asks Veijalainen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Veijalainen prefers to stall for the moment though.
Parker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Veijalainen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Veijalainen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Parker is trying to buck Veijalainen off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Veijalainen in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Veijalainen tries to advance to mount but can't.
Parker wants to get back to his feet but Veijalainen is dominant here and he's now got Parker's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Veijo Veijalainen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Parker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Veijalainen blocks a jab.
Veijalainen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Parker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Veijalainen on the side of the head.
Parker looks to land a right hand but Veijalainen moved out of range.

Veijalainen has managed to clinch.
Veijalainen wants a takedown but no success here.
Veijalainen prevents Parker from breaking the clinch.

Veijalainen pulls guard effortlessly.
Veijalainen wants to stand but Parker is controlling the position.
Parker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Veijalainen is proving hard to escape from.

Veijalainen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parker is looking to break free of the clinch but Veijalainen has double underhooks.
Parker wants to break free but Veijalainen has control.

Veijalainen pulls guard.
Parker is looking to stand up but Veijalainen won't let him.
Veijalainen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parker is one step ahead there.
Parker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Veijalainen is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Veijalainen is looking to sinch up a triangle. Parker throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Veijalainen's body to avoid the submission. Veijalainen has instead reached around Parker's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Veijalainen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Veijo Veijalainen!
