The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Guti swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Manner moves out of range of the body kick.
Guti throws a right and a left that Manner avoids nicely.
No luck for Guti with that takedown attempt.
Guti swinging wilding here.
Manner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Guti will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Manner tries a head kick but it misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Manner tries to clinch there but Guti circles away.
Manner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Manner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Guti's guard.
Manner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Guti is looking to regain half guard here but Manner keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Guti wants to control but Manner postures up.

Manner decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Manner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Guti in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Manner tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Guti!
