Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Rodrigez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konrad Rodrigez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Konrad Rodrigez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Potter!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez shoots in and drives through. Potter sprawls well.

Potter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rodrigez's half guard.

Potter wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodrigez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Potter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rodrigez's head.
Rodrigez wants to get back to full guard but Potter has passed into side control.
Rodrigez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Rodrigez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potter on the ground.
Rodrigez tries to lock up and control but Potter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Potter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Potter controlling from the full mount.
Potter landing strikes from the mount and Rodrigez is in trouble!

Rodrigez is trying to reverse the position but instead Potter has taken his back - oops!
Potter trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Potter really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Rodrigez.
Potter wants to control but Rodrigez is keeping busy.

Potter working for a choke but Rodrigez is defending well.
Potter trying to control momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rodrigez defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Potter's arms.
Potter looks gassed!
Potter keeps control of the position as Rodrigez tries to break free.
Rodrigez trying to get back to his feet but Potter is in full control for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigez trying to control the position but Potter manages to sink in the hooks.

Potter is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rodrigez knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rodrigez for a finish.
Potter doesn't have the hooks in and Rodrigez manages to turn into his guard.
Rodrigez trying to control but Potter is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rodrigez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rodrigez trying to control the position from guard on top but Potter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rodrigez passes Potter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rodrigez wants to stand up but Potter has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Potter is not content to let Rodrigez control the position.

Potter looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rodrigez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Potter controls his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Potter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rodrigez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Potter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Potter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodrigez keeps working.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Potter in particular looking to stall.
Potter is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rodrigez!
Rodrigez can't escape the position.
Potter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rodrigez is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Potter avoids the attempt from Rodrigez to control.

Rodrigez regains half guard.

Potter stands up and beckons Rodrigez to join him on the feet.
Rodrigez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Potter counters with a takedown into side control.
Potter scoring with punches from side control.
Rodrigez is looking for a sweep.

Rodrigez struggling a bit here.
Rodrigez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Potter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Potter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rodrigez is looking to reverse the position.

Potter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rodrigez can't do much from the bottom here.
Rodrigez is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Potter cracks Rodrigez with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Potter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Potter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rodrigez with a lazy takedown attempt

and Potter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rodrigez is trying is best to control the position here.
Potter drops an elbow to the side of Rodrigez's head.
Rodrigez wants to get back to full guard but Potter has mounted him!

Potter is working for a guillotine from mount but Rodrigez frees his head quite easily.
Rodrigez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Potter gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rodrigez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rodrigez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rodrigez looking to finish Potter with some ground and pound. This is bad for Potter!
Potter sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Rodrigez stalling.

Rodrigez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Potter is looking to improve his position.

Potter has a hand on Rodrigez's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rodrigez takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Potter is trying desperately to improve position.
Potter wants to control but Rodrigez is having none of it.

Potter tries to reverse the position but Rodrigez maintains control.
Potter wants to hold on but Rodrigez pushes him away.
Rodrigez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Potter tries to lock up and control but Rodrigez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Potter working to try and regain half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Potter holds on for dear life, controlling Rodrigez's posture momentarily.

Rodrigez goes for an armbar but Potter turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Potter.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rodrigez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Potter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Potter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Konrad Rodrigez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Potter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Potter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Frank Potter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Potter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
