Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antwon Dickens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russel Ebert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russel Ebert is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antwon Dickens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Russel Ebert!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ebert's waist but Ebert gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dickens off to one side.
Ebert keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dickens scores with a push kick.
Ebert moves in looking to clinch but Dickens pushes him off.
Ebert is looking to clinch.
Dickens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ebert but Ebert pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antwon Dickens. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ebert closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ebert lands in his opponent's guard.
Dickens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dickens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ebert is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Ebert is pushing down on Dickens's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dickens is fighting to maintain full guard but Ebert has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ebert looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dickens is breathing heavily.
Ebert seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Ebert is looking to take a break and control but Dickens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ebert looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Ebert prevents Dickens from improving his position.
Ebert trying to mount his opponent but Dickens defends it.
Dickens tries to kick Ebert off but Ebert keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dickens tries to roll over but Ebert keeps him under control.
Ebert working the head and body with strikes.
Dickens is looking to control Ebert's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dickens avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ebert feints and as Dickens raises his hands in defense, Ebert changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ebert is working Dickens over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Dickens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ebert manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dickens wants to control from the top but Ebert keeps moving.
Dickens tries to stand but Ebert is controlling from the bottom.

Ebert lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dickens!
Ebert is landing with some decent strikes but Dickens is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


It looks like Antwon Dickens has been cut.
Dickens is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ebert looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Oh Dickens is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ebert lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ebert pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Dickens tries to hold on but Ebert pushes him away.
Ebert landing strikes, looking to finish!
Ebert lands a big elbow.
Dickens is looking to get to half guard.
Dickens is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Dickens throwing hammer fists to the chest of Ebert. What's that going to do exactly?

Ebert is working for a guillotine from mount but Dickens frees his head quite easily.
Ebert lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ebert tries to control but Dickens wriggling away.
Dickens in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Ebert is landing with some decent strikes but Dickens is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Ebert moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dickens has worked his arm free - good work by Dickens!
Dickens seems to have got his legs back now.

Antwon Dickens's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Antwon Dickens's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
