PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sinclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and D Botwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Sinclair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, D Botwin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Botwin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sinclair.
Sinclair tries to bum rush Botwin with a series of wild strikes but Botwin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sinclair throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sinclair changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Botwin tries to avoid it but Sinclair manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Botwin to the ground. Botwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sinclair misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Sinclair does no damage.
Botwin slips a straight right by Sinclair.

Sinclair closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Sinclair will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Botwin counters with a three punch combo that has Sinclair backing up. Sinclair nods at Botwin to acknowledge the strikes.

Botwin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Botwin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Botwin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sinclair is breathing heavily.
Sinclair is controlling an arm, preventing Botwin from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Botwin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sinclair has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sinclair is squirming around, avoiding Botwin's attempts to control the action.
Botwin avoids the attempt from Sinclair to control.

Botwin throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Botwin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Botwin tries to control but Sinclair wriggling away.

Botwin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sinclair because Botwin loaded up on that one.

Botwin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Sinclair tries to control Botwin's body but Botwin pushes him off. Sinclair squirms to his side and now Botwin has his back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sinclair staying busy and making it hard for Botwin to control.
Sinclair breaks Botwin's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Sinclair gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sinclair does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Botwin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sinclair.

Botwin gets the takedown into side control.
Botwin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

D Botwin dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sinclair goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Sinclair throws a right hand that Botwin ducks under and follows up with a left that Botwin also avoids with ease.

and Botwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sinclair's guard.
Botwin throws a strike but Sinclair rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sinclair has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Botwin controls Sinclair momentarily but Sinclair frees himself.

Botwin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sinclair is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Botwin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sinclair's back instead.

Botwin has the hooks in. Sinclair is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Botwin is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sinclair knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sinclair for a finish.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Botwin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

No joy there for Sinclair, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Botwin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Botwin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sinclair but Sinclair pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dan Sinclair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Botwin.
Sinclair scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Botwin doesn't seem bothered though.
Botwin shoots in but no luck this time.

and Sinclair counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Botwin closes the distance and clinches.
Sinclair is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Dan Sinclair has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Botwin is working for a kimura but Sinclair is defending it quite comfortably.
Sinclair is trying to control but Botwin manages to pass to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sinclair tries to lock up and control but Botwin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

D Botwin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Botwin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
