Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between matt stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Volodin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Volodin!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volodin shoots in looking for a takedown. stuart tries to sprawl out of it but Volodin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. stuart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

stuart gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

stuart thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Volodin is trying to control stuart's posture but stuart avoids it.
Volodin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked stuart off and has taken his back!
stuart has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Volodin.
Volodin struggling to keep hold of the position.
stuart wants to escape the position.
Volodin misses with a punch to the head.
Volodin biding his time, looking for the opening.

stuart rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Volodin tries to stand and escape but stuart is controlling the position.
Volodin tries to pass the half guard into mount. stuart knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Volodin wants to control but stuart is keeping him busy.
Volodin looks gassed!
Volodin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Volodin is trying to control the action in half guard but stuart is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
stuart is trying to control but can't.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Andrei Volodin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
stuart tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Volodin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
stuart throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
stuart throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Volodin dives in and grabs stuart's left leg, looking for a takedown. stuart pushes down on Volodin's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from stuart is defended easily by Volodin.
Volodin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as stuart sprawls well. stuart wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Volodin gets slowly back to his feet.
matt stuart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Volodin.

stuart gets a takedown into half guard.
stuart tries to pass the half guard into mount. Volodin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
stuart wants to control but Volodin is keeping him busy.
Volodin is looking to escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Volodin wants to improve his position but stuart is controlling well.

Volodin is defending against the submission attempts here by stuart.
stuart is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Volodin!

Volodin is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. stuart locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Volodin is forced to tap!
