The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira throws a series of punches but Sylvia avoids them all with ease.
Sylvia is looking to clinch but Nogueira is avoiding it.
Nogueira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sylvia shoots in and bounces Nogueira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nogueira lands a decent punch to the body there.
Nogueira controls Sylvia momentarily but Sylvia frees himself.
Nogueira throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sylvia looking to sit in guard and control but Nogueira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

and Sylvia holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sylvia tries to pull guard but Nogueira won't allow it.
Nogueira is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Nogueira seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Sylvia is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Sylvia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nogueira won't be happy with that.
Sylvia takes a little break here. Nogueira wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Sylvia wants to control but Nogueira is keeping him busy.
Sylvia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nogueira has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nogueira manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Nogueira wants to take a breather but Sylvia is having none of it.
Sylvia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sylvia drops his hands momentarily and Nogueira takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nogueira closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sylvia to the mat! Sylvia manages to get full guard.
Nogueira is looking to stand up but Sylvia won't let him.
Sylvia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nogueira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nogueira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sylvia tries to roll over but Nogueira keeps him under control.

Sylvia throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Nogueira manages to pass to side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roque Nogueira will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Sylvia is just content to waste time from the top position. Nogueira takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Nogueira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sylvia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
