The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akers rushes Krkic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Akers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Akers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Krkic. That did some damage!

Akers clinches up against the cage.
Krkic fails to pull guard.
Akers landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Krkic is trying to break the clinch but Akers is controlling him.
Krkic landing knees to the head.

Akers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Akers lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A nice leg kick lands there from Akers.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Krkic tries to clinch but Akers moves away
and Akers counters with a nice uppercut.

Akers darts in and clinches Krkic up against the cage.

Akers turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Akers decides to stand back up.

Akers lands a left and a right that send Krkic crashing to the mat, dazed. Akers thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Krkic is rocked!

It looks like Mario Krkic has been cut.
Krkic is breathing heavily.

Akers closes the distance and clinches.
Oh Krkic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Akers has Krkic pressed against the cage, preventing Krkic from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Krkic seems to have got his legs back now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Akers content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Akers manages to break the clinch.
Krkic has his takedown stuffed
and Akers counters with a leg kick.
Akers connects with a nice cross there... Krkic is looking wobbly and Akers recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Krkic to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Akers jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
