Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brick Bash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brick Bash will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brick Bash!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bash shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marshall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Marshall keeping moving, preventing Bash from controlling successfully.
Bash wants to stand but Marshall has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marshall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bash throws a big right hand that misses.
Marshall has control of Bash's left arm, preventing Bash from doing any damage.

Bash stands and steps away. Marshall gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Marshall lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

It looks like Brick Bash has been cut.

Bash is bucking up trying to escape but Marshall cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bash wants it to stay on the feet.

Marshall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marshall lands in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marshall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bash rushes Marshall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Marshall crunches a lovely knee into Bash's ribcage.
Marshall's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Marshall is trying to maintain a safe position but Bash gets an underhook and turns Marshall into the cage.

Marshall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bash smiles and moves away.
Marshall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bash tries to avoid it but Marshall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bash to the ground. Bash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bash tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marshall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bash somewhat.

Bash dives in and grabs Marshall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marshall pushes down on Bash's head and hops out.
Bash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marshall swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Marshall is nestled in close to Bash, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bash swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bash tries to close the distance and clinch but Marshall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marshall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
