Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Vrbanek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Vrbanek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vrbanek is looking to clinch.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Vrbanek really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Murphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Vrbanek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vrbanek not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Murphy wants to control from the top but Vrbanek keeps moving.
Murphy controls from within his opponent's guard.
Murphy trying to control but Vrbanek is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tyler Murphy.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown but Vrbanek shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Murphy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vrbanek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Murphy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Vrbanek is looking to control Murphy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vrbanek avoid being mounted?
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Vrbanek trying to control from the bottom.
Well, if Murphy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Vrbanek is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Vrbanek slips a jab and a cross from Murphy.
Murphy circles away from the clinch attempt
and Murphy counters with a thumping low kick.
Vrbanek throws a series of punches but Murphy avoids them all with ease.

Murphy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vrbanek looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Murphy looking to control but instead Vrbanek has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Murphy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vrbanek is not content to let Murphy control the position.
Murphy is looking to stall here but Vrbanek recovers full guard.
Murphy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vrbanek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vrbanek trying to keep a closed guard but Murphy is proving a slippery customer.
Vrbanek keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Tyler Murphy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Vrbanek has managed to clinch.

Murphy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Murphy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Vrbanek tries to stand but Murphy is controlling from the bottom.
Murphy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Murphy dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vrbanek wants to clinch
and Murphy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Vrbanek takes a swing at Murphy's ribcage but misses.
Murphy tries to clinch up but Vrbanek circles away and keeps his distance.
Murphy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Murphy closes the distance but Vrbanek moves to the side
and Vrbanek counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Murphy shoots in for a double leg but Vrbanek sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vrbanek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Murphy counters by moving into the clinch.
Vrbanek tries to pull guard but Murphy won't allow it.
Vrbanek fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Vrbanek. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murphy leaning his opponent against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Murphy stalls.
Vrbanek looking for a takedown.
Vrbanek slows down the pace here.
Murphy keeps control of Vrbanek as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Vrbanek has picked Murphy up - he's going for a ride! Vrbanek dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Murphy pushes Vrbanek off looking to stand but Vrbanek dives back in and keeps control.
Murphy is breathing heavily.
Vrbanek frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Murphy is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Murphy is squirming around, avoiding Vrbanek's attempts to control the action.

Murphy tries to buck Vrbanek off so he can stand up but Vrbanek has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Murphy falls backwards, slamming Vrbanek to the mat but Vrbanek holds on tight! Murphy is forced to tap and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Joe Vrbanek!
