Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruiser Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halperin's entrance music is Somewhere Over the Rainbow. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lang shoots in for a double leg but Halperin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Halperin misses with a double jab.

Lang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lang lands in his opponent's guard.

Lang won't allow Halperin to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halperin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lang manages to pass to side control.

Lang closes the distance and clinches up with Halperin, looking for a takedown. Lang pushes Halperin against the cage but Halperin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lang is standing up over Halperin. Halperin looks to escape but Lang dives into side control.

Halperin tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Lang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Halperin is looking to escape.

Halperin bucks Lang off and manages to get back to his feet!

Halperin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Halperin.
Halperin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lang throws out the jab.

Lang shoots for a double leg takedown but Halperin sprawls well. He's pushed Lang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Halperin thows a body kick. Lang tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Halperin's corner calls for a 1-2. Halperin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Halperin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Halperin is looking to get back to is feet but Lang passes into side control.
Halperin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Halperin tries to get out of the position.
Halperin pushes Lang away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lang gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halperin misses with a hook
and Lang counters with a head kick. That will keep Halperin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Halperin looks to land a left hand but Lang moved out of range nicely.

Lang moves in looking to clinch but Halperin pushes him off.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruiser Halperin will probably get the nod.

Halperin is pressed up against the cage. Lang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Halperin down to the mat. Halperin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lang seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Halperin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Halperin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lang.

Bruiser Halperin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halperin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lang tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Halperin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lang on the ground.
