PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tuck Happiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junmar Hussein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Happiness kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Bullet With a Name on It. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Happiness throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hussein's waist but Hussein gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Happiness off to one side.
Happiness tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Happiness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hussein trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Hussein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Happiness. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hussein escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Happiness gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hussein looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Happiness has picked Hussein up and slammed him! Hussein can't keep hold of the triangle and Happiness manages to pass to side control!

Hussein is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hussein is trying to control Happiness's posture but Happiness avoids it.
Hussein is pushing Happiness's head away, looking to escape. Happiness manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hussein tries to buck Happiness off but Happiness is having none of it.
Happiness wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hussein keeps working.
Hussein looks gassed!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hussein throws a series of punches but Happiness avoids them all with ease.
Happiness fails in his attempt to clinch.

Happiness missing with a left hand there. Hussein was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hussein looks for a takedown but Happiness sprawls well.
Happiness is looking to clinch but Hussein is avoiding it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Happiness, right into the meat.

Happiness shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hussein's guard.

Happiness is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hussein!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hussein lands a with a good body shot.
Nice body kick there by Hussein.
Happiness throws a hook to the side of Hussein's head but Hussein sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Happiness tries to keep at a distance but Hussein has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hussein jumps into guard, dragging Happiness to the mat.

Hussein has his feet on Happiness's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hussein shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hussein is landing with some decent strikes but Happiness is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hussein has hold of Happiness's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Happiness manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hussein is pressed up against the cage. Happiness has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hussein down to the mat. Hussein avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Happiness is on top in guard.

Happiness stands and steps away. Hussein gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Tuck Happiness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hussein closes the distance and clinches up with Happiness, looking for a takedown. Hussein pushes Happiness against the cage but Happiness circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tuck Happiness overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Happiness postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hussein is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Happiness, into his guard.
