Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Statham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vargas has chosen Az - Rather Unique as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Jason Statham has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jason Statham seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Statham fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Vargas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Statham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Statham is trying to improve his position.
Statham is not content to let Vargas control the position.

I really don't envy Vargas right now.
Vargas rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Statham is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vargas defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Statham is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Statham pulls Vargas in close to prevent any damage.

Vargas leaves Statham with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Vargas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Statham was covering up waiting for the punch and Vargas finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Statham is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Vargas is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vargas wants to control the pace but Statham is squirming around nicely.

and Vargas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Statham doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Vargas wants to stand and escape but instead Statham has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Vargas is looking to stand up but Statham isn't so interested in that idea.

Statham is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vargas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Statham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vargas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vargas keeping moving, preventing Statham from controlling successfully.

Randy Vargas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Statham dives in and grabs Vargas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vargas pushes down on Statham's head and hops out.
Vargas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Statham pinned against the cage. Statham gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vargas tries to clinch up but Statham circles away and keeps his distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vargas is defended easily by Statham.

Statham takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Statham jumps guard and drags Vargas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Statham had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vargas defends it easily.

Statham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vargas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Statham is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Statham drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Statham as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Vargas screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Statham! Nice submission victory there!
