Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Corporal Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson gets caught flat footed, as Pettis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pettis controls from within his opponent's guard.
Robinson is looking to stand up but Pettis isn't so interested in that idea.

Pettis stands and steps away. Robinson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Pettis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Robinson's guard now.
Pettis lands a couple of digs.

Pettis pushes down on Robinson's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Robinson is trying to maintain the position but Pettis is very close to passing his half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pettis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robinson is trying to defend but Pettis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Matt Pettis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Pettis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pettis grinds an elbow into Robinson's temple.

Pettis stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Robinson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pettis counters with a straight right hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Pettis misses the target.

Pettis has Robinson up against the cage in a clinch.
Robinson tries to land knees in the clinch but Pettis avoids the damage to the body.
Pettis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pettis jumps guard but Robinson stands there with Pettis around his waist. Pettis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pettis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Robinson's elbow.

Robinson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Robinson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Robinson controls Pettis momentarily but Pettis frees himself.
Pettis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Pettis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Pettis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
