Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amir Dunham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Makleiz! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makleiz throws a leg kick but Dunham moved away. Makleiz thows a left - swing and a miss! Makleiz misses with a looping left. Makleiz throws a hook to the side of Dunham's head but Dunham sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dunham slips under a jab from Makleiz. Makleiz throws a series of punches but Dunham moves out of range. Makleiz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Makleiz throws a series of punches but Dunham moves out of range. Makleiz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dunham. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Makleiz throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Makleiz clobbers Dunham with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Makleiz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dunham. Makleiz tries a low kick but Dunham avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Dunham. Dunham closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Makleiz did well to prevent Dunham getting side control. Dunham is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dunham is looking for a kimura but Makleiz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dunham to get the leverage. Dunham is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Makleiz has managed to free his arm - good work. Dunham is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Makleiz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dunham.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dunham seems to be working for a kimura but Makleiz defends the submission attempt. Makleiz is defending against the submission attempts here by Dunham.
Dunham is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Makleiz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunham seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Makleiz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
