Armstrong has chosen System of a Down - BYOB as his entrance music. Michael Armstrong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick Quinlan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Quinlan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Armstrong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Armstrong tries to clinch but Quinlan moves out of range.

Armstrong rushes Quinlan and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Armstrong lands a nice elbow.
Quinlan tries for a takedown but Armstrong manages to get underhooks.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Quinlan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Armstrong pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Armstrong obliges.
Armstrong lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Quinlan misses with an elbow over the top.

Armstrong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Armstrong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Armstrong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Quinlan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Armstrong was covering up waiting for the punch and Quinlan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Quinlan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Armstrong is looking to stand up but Quinlan isn't so interested in that idea.

Armstrong keeping moving, preventing Quinlan from controlling successfully.
Armstrong is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Quinlan is pushing down on Armstrong's leg trying to pass to half guard. Armstrong is fighting to maintain full guard but Quinlan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Quinlan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Armstrong's head.
Armstrong tries to kick Quinlan off but Quinlan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Quinlan is pressing down on Armstrong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Armstrong is holding on for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quinlan thows a huge punch but Armstrong dodges it nicely.
Armstrong wants to get back to his feet.
Quinlan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Armstrong!
Quinlan tries to control but Armstrong wriggling away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Quinlan cracks Armstrong with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Quinlan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Quinlan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Quinlan is landing with some decent strikes but Armstrong is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee warns Armstrong that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
