Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Sontag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sontag is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Audioslave-like a stone. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sontag thows a huge punch but Lynch dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sontag connects with a nice short shot to Lynch's temple.

Sontag has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sontag is nestled in close to Lynch, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sontag throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lynch.

Sontag shoots for a takedown but Lynch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sontag throws a right and a left that Lynch avoids nicely.

Sontag throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sontag looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lynch is fending him off so far but Sontag persists. Nope, Lynch circles away and we're back to standing.
Jamie Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Sontag.
Sontag shoots in but Lynch avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lynch parries the strikes from Sontag easily there. Sontag is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lynch to escape.
Sontag is looking to take a break and control but Lynch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sontag is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lynch has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sontag creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lynch sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lynch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sontag is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lynch is just riding it out for now. Sontag eventually gives up the hold.

Lynch tries to close the distance and clinch but Sontag swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
