The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Ball lands an impressive looking overhand right. PauNeles doesn't seem phased though.
Horrible takedown by PauNeles or perhaps it was just good defense by Ball which made him look bad.
PauNeles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ball but Ball pushes him off and we're back to square one.
PauNeles has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from PauNeles there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ball lands a jab to the head.
Ball tries to close the distance and clinch up but PauNeles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

PauNeles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ball on the ground.
PauNeles is trying to escape the mount but Ball keeps good control and instead manages to take PauNeles's back.

Ball is persistently looking for the submission but PauNeles is defending it well.
Ball doesn't have the hooks in and PauNeles manages to turn into his guard.

Ball throws a shot from downtown. PauNeles moves away and avoids it.
PauNeles walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ball throws an overhand right that lands on PauNeles's shoulder, as PauNeles tries to avoid the shot.
PauNeles does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ball tries to clinch but PauNeles is having none of it.
Ball stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ball wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Ball as PauNeles shoots in.

PauNeles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ball shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. PauNeles is trying to defend but Ball finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ball shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. PauNeles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

PauNeles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ball gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

PauNeles had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ball defends it easily.

PauNeles wants to control from the top but Ball keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
PauNeles ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ball swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ball throws a hook but PauNeles blocks it.

PauNeles shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than PauNeles was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ball is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and PauNeles defends well.

PauNeles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ball might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

PauNeles misses with a takedown

and Ball counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ball drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ball jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
PauNeles wants to sweep here but Ball controlling him for the moment.
Ball stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. PauNeles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
PauNeles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
