Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankie Penn looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.
Penn swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.

Penn shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Penn manages to get himself to full guard.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Penn's head.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jones landing some decent shots from guard.
Penn is trying to keep Jones in close.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Penn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Penn.
Penn is breathing heavily.
Jones grinds an elbow into Penn's temple.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Penn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jones wants to control but Penn is keeping him busy.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Penn, who protects the arm well.
Jones is working Penn over with some ground and pound from side control.

Oh Penn is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Penn is trying to escape and Jones transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Penn is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jones! Very nice indeed!
