Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Kingston could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tim Kelly's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly tries to clinch up.

Kelly throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kingston was covering up waiting for the punch and Kelly finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kelly postures up in Kingston's guard and throws a big left but Kingston blocks it.
Kingston wants to stand up but Kelly is controlling him.
Kelly is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kingston keeping full guard, as Kelly tries to pass.
Kelly trying to control but Kingston is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelly is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Kelly tries to free his leg and advance position but Kingston is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kingston circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck for Kelly with that takedown attempt.
Kelly fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kelly is looking to clinch.

Kingston closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kelly did well to prevent Kingston getting side control.

Kelly pushes Kingston off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kingston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kelly has his takedown stuffed

and Kingston counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kelly won't be happy with that.
Kingston tries to score with some ground and pound. Kelly controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kingston misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kelly manages to get back to half guard.

Kelly looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kingston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kelly looks gassed!
Kelly wants to control but Kingston is keeping busy.
Kelly pushes Kingston off looking to stand but Kingston dives back in and keeps control.
Kingston is thwarting Kelly's attempts to control the position.
Kingston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kelly on the ground.
Kelly tries to kick Kingston off but Kingston keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Kingston will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kingston stuffs the takedown attempt from Kelly. Kelly gets slowly back to his feet.

Kelly clinches up with Kingston and pushes him back against the cage.
Kingston avoiding damage as Kelly throws knees to the body.
Kingston drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kelly gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kingston stalling.
Kelly fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kelly is trying to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kingston tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kelly just stands there and leans against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kelly.
Kelly tries to pull guard but Kingston holds him up against the cage and eventually Kelly drops back down to his feet.
Luke Kingston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Kelly.
Kelly is breathing heavily.

Kingston gets control of Kelly's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kingston will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kelly thows a big elbow that misses.

Kelly stands up and waves to Kingston to follow him.
Kelly misses with a double jab

so Kingston counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kingston won't allow Kelly to get back to his feet.
Kelly is looking to stand back up but Kingston counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kelly.

Kelly tries to roll over but Kingston keeps him under control.
Kingston sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kelly defending well though.
Kelly is looking to control Kingston's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kelly avoid being mounted?

Kelly trying to control from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kelly throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kingston counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kelly!
Kingston avoids the attempt from Kelly to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kelly tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You get the feeling that Kelly really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kelly tries to hold on but Kingston pushes him away.
Kelly is desperately trying to improve his position but Kingston has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Kingston dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Kelly changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kingston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kelly decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kingston to his feet.
Kingston shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kelly counters with a solid body kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kelly closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kingston counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelly seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Kelly manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Luke Kingston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kelly closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kingston to the mat! Kingston manages to get full guard.
Kelly trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Kingston manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Kelly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kingston is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kelly bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kingston's guard.
Kelly stands and throws Kingston's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kingston!
Kelly tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kingston sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Kelly throwing shots but Kingston is blocking nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Well, if Kelly is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kelly lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kelly not doing much here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Kelly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kingston has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
