Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edward Yazerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valery Georgievich Karpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valery Georgievich Karpin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valery Georgievich Karpin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpin stuffs the takedown.
Karpin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yazerman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Karpin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Karpin tries to clinch up but Yazerman circles away and keeps his distance.
Yazerman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Karpin is fending him off so far but Yazerman persists. Nope, Karpin circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yazerman shoots in but Karpin avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Yazerman.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yazerman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Karpin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Karpin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yazerman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Yazerman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yazerman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Yazerman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karpin sprawls well. Karpin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yazerman gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Yazerman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karpin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Karpin tries to stand but Yazerman is controlling from the bottom.

Yazerman has his foot on Karpin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karpin works his way back into a safe position though.

Valery Georgievich Karpin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Karpin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Yazerman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

I've got Karpin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
