Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Sotomayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Arlovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sotomayor comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman - Metallica. Arlovski has chosen Sex, God, Sex by the SWANS as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Sotomayor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Arlovski! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arlovski misses with a low kick. Arlovski misses with a wild body shot. Arlovski slips a jab from Sotomayor. Arlovski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Arlovski thuds a left hand into Sotomayor's body. Arlovski throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sotomayor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A momentary lapse in concentration from Sotomayor enables Arlovski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sotomayor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Arlovski working some strikes from top position. Sotomayor trying to control the position.
Arlovski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Arlovski won't allow Sotomayor to sweep him here. Sotomayor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Arlovski is aware though and is defending well. Arlovski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arlovski works over Sotomayor with some ground and pound from guard. Arlovski postures up.
Arlovski trying to control the position from guard on top but Sotomayor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sotomayor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Arlovski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Arlovski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arlovski is in close to Sotomayor's body, working some short punches and elbows. Arlovski tries to free his leg and advance position but Sotomayor is retaining full guard. Arlovski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Arlovski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Arlovski throws a big right hand that misses. Sotomayor controls Arlovski momentarily but Arlovski frees himself. Arlovski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Arlovski works over Sotomayor with some ground and pound from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arlovski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sotomayor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arlovski has managed to get both his arms back between Sotomayor's legs - danger averted. Arlovski postures up.

Arlovski passes the guard and advances to mount! Sotomayor wants to control but Arlovski is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Arlovski working Sotomayor over with strikes here. Arlovski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sotomayor hang on? Sotomayor is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sotomayor tries to hold on but Arlovski pushes him away. Sotomayor taking shots to the head. Arlovski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Arlovski scoring with strikes but Sotomayor is staying in there.
Sotomayor is rocked! Arlovski working for a submission but Sotomayor is keeping him at bay. Oh Sotomayor is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Arlovski unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Sotomayor wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Arlovski celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
