The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutierrez throws a sloppy head kick and Shlemenko moves out of range easily.
Gutierrez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shlemenko circles away.

Shlemenko lands a left and a right that send Gutierrez crashing to the mat, dazed. Shlemenko thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Gutierrez is rocked!
Shlemenko wants to clinch.
Gutierrez is still on wobbly legs! Can Shlemenko finish him?
Gutierrez misses with a head kick.
Gutierrez seems to have recovered his senses.
Gutierrez avoids the head kick by Shlemenko.
Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gutierrez as he avoids it easily.
Gutierrez throws a sloppy head kick
and Shlemenko makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shlemenko throws a big shot that misses.
Shlemenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shlemenko sizes up Gutierrez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gutierrez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shlemenko circles away.
Whack! Shlemenko lands a heavy head kick that drops Gutierrez. The ref tackles Shlemenko to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gutierrez was done.
