Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Stamford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ghosts n' Stuff. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Johnny Jones was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Grant Stamford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Jones! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stamford pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones scores with a couple of short elbows. Stamford sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Jones trying to mount his opponent but Stamford defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones wants to take a breather but Stamford is having none of it. Stamford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones is working for a submission of some sort.
Stamford is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stamford wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stamford tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stamford ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away. Stamford thows a body shot but no joy. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. You can see the frustration on Stamford's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stamford is trying to buck Jones off. Jones tries to score with some ground and pound. Stamford controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Stamford is not content to let Jones control the position. Sloppy strikes there by Jones.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stamford can't do much from the bottom here. Jones is chipping away with strikes.

Stamford takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Jones misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones looks gassed! Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Stamford some visible discomfort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stamford is looking for a sweep. Jones scoring with punches from side control. Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stamford is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jones is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Stamford has worked his arm free - good work by Stamford!
Stamford tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Stamford misses with a hook. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Stamford swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Stamford rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Johnny Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stamford as he avoids it easily. Grant Stamford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Jones. Stamford throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stamford circles away. Stamford lands a nice shot to the body.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jab from Stamford. Stamford misses the jab. Jones blocks a jab. Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Jones takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jones is breathing heavily. A clash of legs there as Jones blocks the low kick. A swing and a miss from Stamford. Stamford circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Jones to the canvas! Jones doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Stamford keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Grant Stamford!
