The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mekhar throws a chopping leg kick but Mitchell manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Mekhar throws a front kick that sends Mitchell stumbling back into the cage.

Mekhar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mitchell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mekhar tries to stand but Mitchell is controlling his head.

Mekhar stands up.
Mekhar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mitchell manages to avoid it.
Mitchell misses with a wild body shot.
Mekhar slips a straight right by Mitchell.
Mekhar scores with a decent looking hook.

and Mekhar counters with a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mitchell takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mitchell looks gassed!
A jab lands there for Mekhar.
Mekhar clobbers Mitchell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

A jab-cross combination lands for Mekhar and sends Mitchell crashing to the mat! Mekhar follows him down to the mat - Mitchell regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
