Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evander Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones scores with a takedown into Jenkins's guard.
Jones is fighting to break Jenkins's control of his arms but Jenkins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jones forces his way into half guard.
Jenkins wants to get back to full guard.
Jones trying to advance position but Jenkins counters by regaining guard.
Jenkins keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.
Jenkins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Jenkins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

Jenkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jenkins on the ground.
Jenkins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jenkins wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jenkins is one step ahead there.
Jenkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Jenkins from controlling successfully.
Jones keeping full guard, as Jenkins tries to pass.
Jenkins trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jenkins as he avoids it easily.

and Jones counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Mark Jenkins has been cut.

and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jenkins.
Jenkins tries to advance to mount but can't.

Jenkins tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

Jenkins trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jenkins misses with the ground and pound.

Jenkins goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jenkins's guard! Nice work there by Jones!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.
Jones won't allow Jenkins to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Jones counters with a nice body shot.
Jenkins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones lands a jab.
Jenkins fails with the takedown
and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Jenkins.
Evander Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Jenkins.
Jenkins is breathing heavily.

Jones misses with a takedown

and Jenkins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
Jenkins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Jenkins wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jenkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jenkins is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Jenkins.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.

and Jenkins counters with a takedown into side control.

Jenkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jenkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jenkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jenkins is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jones is trying to escape and Jenkins transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jones is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jenkins! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Jenkins! Mark Jenkins retains his heavyweight title!
