The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre misses with a takedown attempt - Pop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pop avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pop stuffs the takedown.
St Pierre dodges the punch combination from Pop.
A combination from Pop does no damage.
St Pierre throws out a leg kick but Pop moves out of range and St Pierre only half commits.
Pop misses with a jab, cross combination.
Georges St Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
St Pierre fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pop as he jumps to the side.
Pop throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Pop tries to bum rush St Pierre with a series of wild strikes but St Pierre uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
St Pierre has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Georges St Pierre has been cut.
St Pierre moves in looking to clinch but Pop pushes him off.

and Pop counters with a crisp one two that drops St Pierre! Pop thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves St Pierre to his feet! St Pierre is in big trouble!

St Pierre is rocked!
Pop fails to land with a series of punches.
Oh St Pierre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monty Pop is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pop misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
St Pierre dodges the punch combination from Pop.
Pop throws a series of punches but St Pierre moves out of range.
St Pierre seems to have got his legs back now.
Pop fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

St Pierre closes the distance looking to clinch
and Pop counters with an outside leg kick.
Pop swinging wildly here.
St Pierre throws a sloppy head kick and Pop moves out of range easily.
St Pierre delivers a nice body kick.
St Pierre shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pop pinned against the cage. Pop gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
St Pierre wants to clinch
and Pop cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pop throws a nice looking combination but St Pierre bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

A jab lands there for Pop.
Pop connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent St Pierre tumbling to the canvas! Pop pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! St Pierre was done - good stoppage!
