Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Puzzle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clark Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jason Puzzle!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent shoots for a double leg takedown but Puzzle sprawls well. He's pushed Kent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kent scores with a crisp jab that stopped Puzzle in his tracks.


It looks like Jason Puzzle has been cut.
Kent fails with a takedown attempt.
Kent shoots in for a takedown but Puzzle shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clark Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kent looks for a takedown but Puzzle sprawls well.
Puzzle throws a one two combo.

Kent shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Puzzle pinned against the cage. Puzzle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kent is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kent throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Puzzle.

Nice combo by Puzzle! Oh, that's hurt him - Kent falls to the canvas and Puzzle follows him into side control.

Puzzle tries to advance to mount but Kent denies him.

Puzzle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kent is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Puzzle looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Puzzle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kent, who protects the arm well.
Kent is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Puzzle off and has taken his back!

Puzzle defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Kent is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Puzzle defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Puzzle showing good submission defense here.
Kent controlling well, preventing Puzzle from escaping the position.
Puzzle turns into Kent and is now in his guard.

Puzzle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kent is looking to stand up but Puzzle isn't so interested in that idea.
Puzzle wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.

Kent is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Puzzle defends well.

Puzzle tries to free his leg and advance position but Kent is retaining full guard.

Kent looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Puzzle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kent has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Puzzle has managed to get both his arms back between Kent's legs - danger averted.
Puzzle stands and throws Kent's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kent is pushing Puzzle's head away, looking to escape. Puzzle manages to hold on to the position though.

Kent is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Puzzle is controlling him well.

Kent regains half guard.

Kent is defending against the submission attempts here by Puzzle.
Kent is pressing down on Puzzle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kent uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Kent or perhaps it was just good defense by Puzzle which made him look bad.
Puzzle throws a right and a left that Kent avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kent shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Puzzle throws a one two combo.
Horrible takedown by Kent or perhaps it was just good defense by Puzzle which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jason Puzzle will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Kent drives through and clinches with Puzzle against the cage.
Kent jumps guard but Puzzle stands there with Kent around his waist. Kent gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kent wants to stall.

Puzzle manages to break the clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Puzzle.
Kent shoots in for a takedown but Puzzle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Puzzle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Puzzle swings away with a leg kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puzzle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kent circles away quickly and effectively.
Kent throws a head kick but Puzzle moves out of range.
Kent falls off balance throwing a combination
and Puzzle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A telegraphed right hand from Kent misses the target.
Puzzle connects with a looping right hand.
Kent doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Puzzle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kent's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clark Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Puzzle pushes down on Kent's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Kent looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Puzzle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kent!
Kent keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Puzzle moves to take his opponent's back.

Kent is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Puzzle gets his way!

Kent is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Puzzle is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Puzzle has escaped and now he's on top!

Puzzle wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
Puzzle tries to free his leg and advance position but Kent is retaining full guard.
Kent wants to stand but Puzzle is controlling the position.
Kent bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Puzzle's guard.

Kent stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kent tries for a takedown but Puzzle circles away easily

and Puzzle counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Puzzle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kent is keeping the position for now.
Kent looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Puzzle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Puzzle throwing strikes from guard but Kent blocks nicely.

Kent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Puzzle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kent is looking for a triangle but Puzzle pushes his legs off easily.
Kent wants to sweep here but Puzzle controlling him for the moment.
Puzzle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Puzzle passes Kent's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kent makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kent.
Puzzle won't allow Kent to sweep him here.
Puzzle trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom.

Puzzle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kent had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puzzle defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Puzzle is one step ahead there.
Puzzle wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Puzzle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kent misses with a body kick.
Clark Kent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Puzzle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kent.
Kent wants to clinch up but Puzzle keeps it at a distance.
Kent throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Puzzle.
Kent tries to score a power double leg takedown but Puzzle sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kent somewhat.

Kent showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Puzzle.
Kent closes the distance and clinches up with Puzzle, looking for a takedown. Kent pushes Puzzle against the cage but Puzzle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kent shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Puzzle but Puzzle pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Puzzle shoots in and bounces Kent off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Puzzle passes Kent's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Puzzle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Puzzle is looking to take a break and control but Kent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Puzzle is looking to advance position but Kent won't allow it.

Kent utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kent has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Puzzle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kent wants to sweep but no luck.
Puzzle wants to pass the guard but Kent is keeping the position.

Kent is looking for a triangle but Puzzle pushes his legs off easily.
Puzzle stands and throws Kent's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kent tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Puzzle wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Puzzle working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kent manages to get back to half guard.
Kent gets full guard.
Kent is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Puzzle tries to get to full guard but Kent has control of the leg.

Kent is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Puzzle is just riding it out for now. Kent eventually gives up the hold.

Kent is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kent wants to work for an arm triangle but Puzzle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Clark Kent has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jason Puzzle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kent looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight!
Clark Kent showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Puzzle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
