Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Ruska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kushin Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Ruska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kushin Takahashi!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takahashi shoots for a double leg takedown but Ruska sprawls well. He's pushed Takahashi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ruska cracks Takahashi with an open hand slap.

Takahashi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheers as Ruska lands an impressive looking overhand right. Takahashi doesn't seem phased though.
Ruska throws a leg kick which misses Takahashi's front leg but catches the back leg as Takahashi tries to avoid it.
Ruska is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Takahashi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ruska but Ruska pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dan Ruska has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kushin Takahashi.

Ruska is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Takahashi to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Ruska looks to land a combination. Takahashi sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
