The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
CORTEZ throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Stone's head.
CORTEZ tries to close the distance and clinch but Stone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
CORTEZ drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Stone sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Stone tries to get to full guard but CORTEZ has control of the leg.
CORTEZ wants to pass the guard but Stone is defending well.
Stone is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone trying to hold on to CORTEZ's head to control him but CORTEZ postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
CORTEZ tries to clinch there but Stone circles away.
Stone shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. CORTEZ is trying to defend but Stone finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
CORTEZ is not content to let Stone control the position.
CORTEZ tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Stone has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Stone quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Stone but it's paid off an CORTEZ is forced to tap! Nice work by Stone.
