PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kit Jardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokito Sacuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kit Jardin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kit Jardin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sacuraba fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jardin sprawls well initially but Sacuraba persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sacuraba tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sacuraba has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jardin wants to stand and escape but Sacuraba is having none of it.

Jardin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Tokito Sacuraba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sacuraba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jardin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jardin tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Sacuraba counters with a single leg into guard. Jardin didn't expect that.

Jardin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sacuraba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jardin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sacuraba can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jardin drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Jardin seems to have locked his on tight now - Sacuraba screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Jardin, as he picks up the win!
